Feed Laboratory
The Feed Laboratory works to assure that animal feeds and pet foods produced or sold in the state of Iowa adhere to label guarantees.
Tests performed in the Feed Laboratory include:
- Protein content
- Calcium content
- Phosphorus content
- Ruminant DNA testing for prevention of BSE
- Trace element content (cobalt, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc
Fertilizer Laboratory
The Fertilizer Laboratory is responsible for testing fertilizers produced or sold in the state of Iowa.
Tests performed in the Fertilizer Laboratory include:
• Nitrogen (N)
• Phosphate (P2O5)
• Potash (K2O)
