IDALS seeks to fill the position of Environmental Specialist in the Water Resources Bureau. Specifically, the selected candidate will serve as a watershed project coordinator whose function is to manage and coordinate the implementation of local and regional water quality conservation projects and non-project activities, conservation planning and implementation of practices, information and educations, assessment, and other related activities essential to IDALS, Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs), and NRCS in support of the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy.  The position will be in the Vinton USDA Service Center but will serve across multiple SWCDs. The preferred candidate will have experience and or/educational background in agronomy, soil conservation, nutrient management, and/or agricultural operations.
