Iowa CIS Program Information

February 17, 2020

The Cooperative Interstate Shipment Program (CIS) allows certain selected state-inspected meat and poultry establishments to ship products across state lines.  Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) is currently working to establish a Cooperative Agreement with USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) to participate in the program.  Establishments interested in applying or wishing to learn more can find the application form and an explanatory PowerPoint presentation here.  Further information on CIS can be found on the USDA-FSIS homepage at: https://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/inspection/state-inspection-programs/cis.  Please contact our office at 515-281-3338 or Kathryn.Polking@iowaagriculture.gov for more information.
