Re: Preliminary trade agreement with Mexico

Statement of Mike Naig, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture:

“The announcement today of a preliminary trade agreement with Mexico shows encouraging signs of progress, but plenty of work lies ahead of us.  I will continue to advocate for new and expanded markets for our farmers that have been directly impacted by the ongoing trade negotiations with China and our NAFTA partners.

“These are crucial trading partners and consumers of Iowa ag products. Our farmers need access to these markets and I will continue to echo these sediments to the Administration and our U.S. trade officials.”
