Naig to Visit Scott, Muscatine and Cedar Counties March 22 and 23

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig today announced that he will be making stops in Scott, Muscatine and Cedar Counties on March 22 and 23.

On Thursday, Naig will participate in a panel discussion as part of the 4th annual Ag Summit at Cinnamon Ridge Farms in Donahue.  On Friday, Naig will participate in the KWPC Ag Roundtable in Muscatine and then present the Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award to Rob and Amy Glick in Tipton.

Scott County – 9:00 a.m., participate in a panel discussion as part of the 4th annual Ag Summit at Cinnamon Ridge Farms, 10600 275th St., Donahue

Friday, March 23, 2018
Muscatine County – 10:00 a.m., participate in the KWPC Ag Roundtable, Muscatine's Ag Learning Center 3000 Lucas Street, Muscatine
Cedar County – 11:30 a.m., present Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor to Rob and Amy Glick, Mathews Building on the Cedar County Fairgrounds, 1195 210th St., Tipton

Naig was appointed by Governor Kim Reynolds to succeed Bill Northey as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture on Monday, March 5, 2018. Prior to that, he had served as Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture for Northey since September 2013.

As Secretary, he is committed to leading efforts to protect consumers, expanding economic opportunities for Iowans and advocating in Iowa and around the globe on behalf of the hard-working men and women who keep us fed and fueled.

Mike Naig grew up on a family farm in the northwest corner of the state near Cylinder, Iowa and he continues to be involved in the operation today.
