NOTICE OF GRAIN DEALER CANCELLATION

Pursuant to the requirements of Iowa Code Section 203D.6(3) (2017), all interested grain sellers are hereby notified of the cancellation the grain dealer license held by Doug’s Feed Service, Inc., Baxter, Iowa. Grain dealer license number GD-4709 was canceled on October 1, 2024. The licensee elected not to renew the grain dealer license and requested cancelation of the license effective September 30, 2024.

The cancellation of the above-identified grain dealer license is a “claim incurrence date” in accordance with Iowa Code Section 203D.6(2).  All grain claims against the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund on account of this grain dealer must be in writing and sent by ordinary mail or delivered personally within 120 days after the incurrence date, which would be by January 29, 2025 to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Grain Warehouse Bureau, Wallace State Office Building, Des Moines, Iowa 50319, as administrator of the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund.  Failure to timely file a claim within the 120-day time period relieves the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund from liability to the claimant.

Failure to make a timely claim against the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund does not relieve the grain dealer of its liability to the claimant.


NOTICE OF GRAIN DEALER AND WAREHOUSE CANCELLATION

Pursuant to the requirements of Iowa Code Section 203D.6(3) (2017), all interested grain sellers and depositors are hereby notified of the cancellation the of grain dealer and warehouse operator licenses held by Schmidt Merchandising, Inc., DeWitt, Iowa. Grain dealer license GD-5238 and warehouse operator license W-4953 were canceled on October 1, 2024. The licensee voluntarily requested cancellation of the warehouse and grain dealer licenses on September 30, 2024.  The licensee will no longer conduct business as a warehouse operator or grain dealer. 

The cancellation of the above-identified licenses is a “claim incurrence date” in accordance with Iowa Code Section 203D.6(2).  All grain claims against the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund on account of this grain dealer and warehouse operator must be in writing and sent by ordinary mail or delivered personally within 120 days after the incurrence date, which would be by January 29, 2025 to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Grain Warehouse Bureau, Wallace State Office Building, Des Moines, Iowa 50319, as administrator of the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund.  Failure to timely file a claim within the 120-day time period relieves the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund from liability to the claimant.

NOTICE OF WAREHOUSE CANCELLATION

Pursuant to the requirements of Iowa Code Section 203D.6(3) (2017), all interested grain depositors are hereby notified of the cancellation of the warehouse operator license held by A & K Feed & Grain co., Inc., Lime Springs, Iowa. Warehouse operator license W-2726 was canceled on October 1, 2024. The warehouse facilities were sold to Five Star Cooperative, New Hampton, a federally licensed warehouse. All storage obligations were assumed by Five Star Cooperative.  The licensee will maintain its grain dealer license, GD-0573.

The cancellation of the above-identified license is a “claim incurrence date” in accordance with Iowa Code Section 203D.6(2).  All grain claims against the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund on account of this warehouse operator must be in writing and sent by ordinary mail or delivered personally within 120 days after the incurrence date, which would be by January 29, 2025 to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Grain Warehouse Bureau, Wallace State Office Building, Des Moines, Iowa 50319, as administrator of the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund.  Failure to timely file a claim within the 120-day time period relieves the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund from liability to the claimant.

NOTICE OF GRAIN DEALER AND WAREHOUSE CANCELLATION

Pursuant to the requirements of Iowa Code Section 203D.6(3) (2017), all interested grain sellers and depositors are hereby notified of the cancellation the of grain dealer and warehouse operator licenses held by B B and P Feed And Grain, Inc., Winterset, Iowa. Grain dealer license GD-3076 and warehouse operator license W-4156 were canceled on October 22, 2024. The company was acquired by Heartland Co-op, an Iowa licensed warehouse (W-0867) and an Iowa licensed grain dealer (GD-0002).

The cancellation of the above-identified licenses is a “claim incurrence date” in accordance with Iowa Code Section 203D.6(2).  All grain claims against the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund on account of this grain dealer and warehouse operator must be in writing and sent by ordinary mail or delivered personally within 120 days after the incurrence date, which would be by February 19, 2025 to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Grain Warehouse Bureau, Wallace State Office Building, Des Moines, Iowa 50319, as administrator of the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund.  Failure to timely file a claim within the 120-day time period relieves the Iowa Grain Depositors and Sellers Indemnity Fund from liability to the claimant.
