Iowa Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI)

Iowa was awarded over 5.2 million dollars through USDA American Rescue Plan (ARP) to create the RFSI program.

This program is to build resilience in the middle of the food supply chain, by developing and improving markets for Iowa small farms and food businesses, investing in the development of Iowa local food processing, distribution and aggregation infrastructure and protecting fair prices, fair wages, and new and safe job opportunities. This program, managed by Iowa Valley RC&D will utilize funds to implement a State-Led Supply Chain Coordination, supporting our local food system and offers two grant opportunities to Iowa producers and processors.  Infrastructure grants (more than $1.5 million) and equipment only grants (nearly $1.5 million) are available.  Additional information for farmers, processors and stakeholders on this program can be found here: https://www.iowarfsi.org/grants.
